Description
For generations, the people of Ireland relied on the healing properties of the hedgerow, woodland and field. Knowledge of native herbs was passed from family to family: a practical tradition rooted in folklore and a deep connection to the land. Today, much of that wisdom has been lost. This beautifully illustrated guide brings it back to life.
Focusing on Ireland’s most common native herbs, it reveals their traditional uses, the stories and folklore that surround them, and simple, accessible ways to use them in everyday life. From nourishing recipes and herbal teas to syrups, tinctures, balms and poultices, each chapter offers practical techniques that anyone can master at home.
Grounded in the belief that the best remedies are often those that grow where we live, this book invites readers to rediscover the healing potential of the Irish landscape. This is an invitation to reconnect with nature, rediscover forgotten knowledge, and build confidence in caring for ourselves through the plants that have sustained generations before us.
